Sharon Martin, Psy.D.

Hello! My name is Sharon Martin, and I’m a licensed psychologist in Lexington, KY who specializes in counseling for grief and many other concerns. Do you ever feel like you’re living on the margins of your life? As a therapist, I work with people to explore their lives on a deep level because it is my experience that the more deeply we work, the deeper our healing. We will work together to identify what is holding you back, has you stuck. I don't think it is what's wrong with you; I think it's what's happened to you. You may identify the stuck place as grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, blocked life transitions, creativity, or spiritual growth. You may recognize this as a yearning to deepen and grow.

These are especially hard times in the world;  we’re grieving from all the disruptions. When we face a personal loss in addition, we may not be able to connect to our usual inner and outer resources.  These hard times can stir up personal issues already simmering. Maybe it is time to get the support you need to dig deep.

I have helped clients for over 25 years and would like to work together with you to identify what is holding you back. I bring an integrated perspective to therapy and work in a collaborative way with clients. I know we each hold within us what it takes to face what’s happened, heal, and move from life on the margins to living a life of deep purpose and joy.

Clients who have worked with me have expressed a sense of being more centered, more able to live a deeper life, more open to their inner world and more able to connect with others. They have appreciated my non-judgmental acceptance and calm presence in the midst of challenging times. Therapy involves confronting pain, and clients have appreciated the support I offer, and they have especially appreciated the humor and joy that is so much a part of connecting to our deeper selves.
